We are limiting the footfall into the health centre in order to protect both our staff and patients. We are offering telephone triage daily and the doctor will determine when, how and where you will be treated. Please ring before 10.30am.

Non-NHS Services

DUE TO THE INCREASED DEMAND ON GPs WE HAVE HAD TO SUSPEND MANY NON-NHS SERVICES THAT WE WOULD ONCE HAVE OFFERED. 

WE WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE HGV AND BOAT MEDICALS  - PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR EMPLOYER AS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RECEIVE AN EXTENSION TO YOUR CURRENT LICENSE

FOR A HGV MEDICAL, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE £80 FEE AND YOU MUST HAVE HAD A RECENT EYE TEST (3 MONTHS) A URINE SAMPLE IS ALSO REQUIRED

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • non_nhs_services3Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Passport signing
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates
  • Some travel vaccinations
  • Third party letters

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability. 

Patients often ask for Letters of Support from patients for benefits claims or housing requests. GPs workload does not allow for these and such letters are often carry little or no weight in statutory bodies decision making - despite what people's perceptions seem to be!

THE CONTRACT UNDER WHICH GPs WORK, MEANS THEY ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION AT ALL WITH REGARDS TO SUCH REQUESTS.
